Advanced Telecom Services has had a long and storied history in Canada.
Advanced Telecom Services’ President Bob Bentz was one of the principal organizers of the newly created Canadian 900 number industry. In consultation with Bell Canada, the new 900 number service was launched in Canada in 1993 and Advanced Telecom Services became one of the nation’s first providers of premium rate services.
The first technical offices for Advanced Telecom Services were located in Halifax, Nova Scotia as the company co-located its equipment with then Maritime Telephone & Telegraph (now Bell Aliant). Its initial sales office was in Mississaugua, Ontario. Over the years, Advanced Telecom Services has moved its call center to Vancouver and back to Toronto, but one thing has never changed — Advanced Telecom Services continues to provide interactive telephone services to media, advertisers, advertising agencies, and entrepreneurs.
The Advanced Telecom Services Interactive Telephone blog is designed to allow readers to keep up with the ever changing landscape of interactive telephone services in Canada. Today, that landscape includes not only the legacy landline phone, but also the internet, and the mobile phone. Exciting new services such as mobile marketing have been added to our origins in the Canadian 900 number business.
As we near our 20th anniversary of providing interactive telephone services to Canada, you can bet that Advanced Telecom Services will continue to provide the technology and the level of support that you’ve grown to expect since 1993.
